The hotel has the best location. The functionality of everything in the hotel is superb. The rooms are small but neat and the windows can be opened, hence the room can be aired. We had a wonderful stay.

Me and my fiancé was on honeymoon and we stayed for 9 days. I did send a an inquiry for confirmation mail directly from the hotel instead of only the report by the app itself just in case if the customs officers could have ask for it because it was my first trip to The U.S. They were so kind and replied as soon as possible. Then we arrived and there was the sweetest reception personnel we have ever met also they proposed us small bags of cookies and we can never forget Ms. Melanie she was always so kind to us. Check-in was so fast we were in shock and they were already arranging us a bed with rose petals and ornaments for my fiancé. Our booking should had been a standard one but we had a gorgeous, bold view at 28th floor. We would like to thank to the ladies especially to Ms.Melanie for the care she had shared with us. Regardless of the deep search of ours before the decision on DoubleTree, we always read about the other hotels’ rooms which were so small, non-working air conditioners, late arriving elevators, noises, dirty sheets, bad scents etc. but beware our room/hotel is extraordinarily none of the above. Even though we shopped and filled our 4 luggages we never felt out of space within. Even though the weather outside was always between -5 and -15 degrees Celsius we did not have problem with warmth of the room. The hotel is at the heart of everything, facility is secure. Of course you may see homeless people around the streets just like you may see in any other cities and countries but we never had issues since we always tried to be careful. If you are willing to visit top Outlet Centers like “Woodbury, Niagara Falls” for extra discounted quality items the direct bus line to and from there leaves right across the hotel “Port Authority Bus Terminal / PABT”. The metro/train is at 5mins of walk. You can also go to The Madison Square Garden by 15mins of walk.

My go to hotel when visiting New York. Staff is very professional and helpful. Housekeeping is excellent and fast. Location is perfect for New York city. Across from Port Authority Bus Terminal (Shuttle to Newark Airport). Walking distance to Times Square (0.5 mi) , Madison Square Gardens (0.5 mi), Hudson Yards (0.6 mi), 5th Avenue, St. Patrick's Cathedral (1.2 mi) , Central Park (1.2 mi) , Broadway (0.6 mi) and many restaurants and bars. Coffee shop and pizza shop next door and a bodega around the corner. Restaurant and bar are excellent. Chocolate Chip cookies at check in are delicious. 10/10 for location. It’s 1 min walk from the PABT station, 5-10 mins walk to times square and train stations. 40th st wasn’t super crowded and the shops/food places weren’t overpriced as nyc usually is. I will definitely stay here again solely for the location.
